| Digital still cameras with preview (LPD by the acronym in English of live-preview cameras) are cameras that use digital images generated in a conventional manner in a liquid crystal display as the principal means to frame and preview the image before taking the photography.
The digicams (digital cameras Standard) covering the majority of digital still cameras. They are characterized by being fairly simple to operate, in addition to providing automated functions to the focus (autofocus) and the handling of the lighting. Due to their small size have very short focal lengths which produces a very large depth of field, so that objects at different distances can be focused at the same time. Sometimes this quality can lead to an unintended effect in the photograph.
The cameras are digital SLR cameras similar to the traditional SLR, to enable them to use the same objectives. Because they are digital cameras, differ in that instead of exposing on film, they do so on an image sensor. As an advantage over compact cameras, including a bigger sensor, which leads to greater focal lengths and with it greater control over the depth of field. The larger the sensor also has implications in greater image quality and greater sensitivity reaching values scale photographic sensibility with a much higher noise level very low. Its use is usually more complex than the compact cameras, but with more level of control by the user. Prices tend to be much higher due to these general characteristics of the object. |
